Universal City City Council approved the renaming of the Cimarron Park and Clubhouse to Neville Park and Clubhouse on March 4.

The details

The park, located at 368 Wagon Crossing, Universal City, is being named after Richard "Dick" Neville.

Neville served as a Universal City City Council member for 26 years—15 of which he was the council's Mayor Pro Tem. Neville and his wife, Carol, have lived in Universal City for 43 years. He also serves on the board of directors for the city's economic development corporation, Universal City City Manager Kim Turner said in an email to Community Impact.

Next steps

City staff is working to get new signage for the park and clubhouse as well as a dedication plaque for the building. When those are in place, the city will hold a dedication ceremony, Turner said.
