In Schertz, contested races include the mayor and Place 2 council member. Mayor Ralph Gutierrez will be running against Robert C. Marks, Jr. and Cedric B. Edwards, Sr.
Candidates for Place 2 council member include Michelle Watson, Paul J. Kendzior and Tiffany M. Gibson. This position was left vacant when Rosemary Scott resigned in February.
The city of Cibolo has three contested races, including mayor, District 2 council member and District 3 council member.
For mayor, five candidates are running to take the position held by Stosh Boyle. Candidates include Kara Latimer, Summer-Marie Brown, Terry Hinze, Tim Woliver and Mark Allen.
District 2 council member candidates include Randy Roberts and Cody Hicks, and District 3 council member candidates include Robert Mahoney and Charles Ruppert.
Cibolo also has two propositions on the ballot, with Proposition A presenting voters with the opportunity to vote for of against the reauthorization of the local sales and use tax in the city at the rate of one-quarter of 1% to continue providing revenue for the maintenance and repair of the municipal streets.
Proposition B allows residents the chance to vote for or against authorizing the city to sell or exchange 5.6 acres of city-owned land out of Niemietz Park in exchange for 5.6 acres of land owned by the Cibolo Economic Development Corporation.
Universal City voters will have one proposition on the ballot, in which they will vote for or against the issuance of bonds for street improvements not to exceed $30 million in principal amounts and levying of a tax in payment thereof.
Voters within Judson ISD will also have a bond on the ballot in the amount of $345 million, which will be used for safety and security as well as the construction of two new campuses and additional buses.
This bond will be broken into two propositions with Proposition A focused on safety and security items, and Proposition B focused on the campuses and buses.
