In September, Superintendent Clark Ealy announced his retirement effective Jan. 31.
Following a superintendent search process, the board of trustees announced Meloni as the lone finalist Dec. 12.
In accordance with state law, the board had to wait 21 days before officially hiring Meloni as the new superintendent.
With the official hiring, Meloni will be the new superintendent for the district beginning Feb. 1.
