San Antonio-based company Joeris General Contractors on July 26 donated $35,000 to the Alzheimer's Association of San Antonio and South Texas from proceeds of Joeris' inaugural charity golf tournament held earlier in 2023.
Company CEO Gary Joeris was joined by several Joeris employees in a check presentation ceremony at the most recent board meeting for the Alzheimer's Association of San Antonio and South Texas.
"We are thrilled to be able to contribute to the Alzheimer's Association of San Antonio and South Texas through the success of our first annual charity golf tournament," Joeris said in a statement. "The Alzheimer's Association is an exceptional organization that provides support to individuals and families impacted by this devastating disease. This donation represents our commitment to making a difference in the lives of our community members, especially those affected by Alzheimer's."
Greg Sciuto, executive director of the Alzheimer's Association San Antonio and South Texas Chapter, said Joeris' contributions will make a significant impact in efforts to accelerate research, drive risk reduction and early detection, and maximize quality care and support for Alzheimer’s patients locally and globally.
According to a news release, Joeris used other proceeds from its first charity golf tournament to donate $35,000 to Day 1 Bags, a Boerne-based nonprofit that provides new duffle bags and backpacks to foster and at-risk youths in need.
