San Antonio’s annual communitywide tribute to the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., involving more than 100,000 marchers, highlights events scheduled around town during the third weekend of January.

It is the first time the city will have the MLK Jr. march as an in-person event since January 2020, just prior to the local emergence of COVID-19.

The city of San Antonio will co-present its 36th Martin Luther King Jr. March and Celebration, the nation’s largest annual MLK event of its kind, beginning at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Academy. This will be the city’s first in-person MLK Jr. march since 2020. The march ends at Pittman-Sullivan Park, where a public celebration will include multicultural performances, guest speakers, a health and wellness area, a youth area, food and merchandise vendors, and information booths. The MLK Jr. march and celebration are part of annual DreamWeek San Antonio activities.
