This ordinance allows CPS access to the SA Airport for the purpose of installation, construction, repair and replacement of underground electrical lines, electrical equipment and facilities. The ordinance also approves reimbursing CPS Energy for their work for an amount not to exceed $2.5 million.
The agreement will support SA Airport complex upgrades over the next 5-10 years and ensures resilient feeds from secondary power sources.
City officials have earmarked $835,000 from the fiscal year 2024-25 capital budget for interim funds and an additional $1.665 million for the Utility Infrastructure Upgrades project.
