The InterContinental San Antonio Riverwalk’s signature restaurant and American Brasserie Cavalier will host the Taste & Savor event, a wine pairing dinner, with Becker Vineyards at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 15.

The Taste & Savor event includes a five-course meal prepared by Executive Chef Andres Farias paired with Becker Vineyards’ signature wines and will celebrate the Texas winery’s 30th anniversary.

Founded in 1992, Becker Vineyard has 11 grape varietals planted on the estate, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Mourvedre, Syrah, Petit Sirah, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. Additionally, the winery is the largest purchaser of French and American white oak barrels in Texas.

Farias, Cavalier’s executive chef, has worked in kitchens across the world, including in Chicago, Illinois, Miami, Florida and Caracas, Venezuela. He is a graduate of the International Chef program at the High Training Educational Institute in Caracas and completed specialized training in French and Asian cuisines.
