Methodist Hospital Texsan opens new MRI center

On July 29, Methodist Hospital Texsan hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its newly constructed magnetic resonance imaging, or MRI, center.

The new MRI suite allows for quicker scan times and more precise diagnoses, reducing delays and enhancing care delivery, according to a news release.

"This MRI center is not just an upgrade in technology. It's a leap forward in how quickly and effectively we can care for our patients," said Esther Kwon, CEO of Methodist Hospital Texsan, in the news release. "We are now equipped to deliver more accurate diagnoses at a faster pace, with less wait time and greater comfort. It's a tangible expression of our mission to serve our community with excellence, innovation and compassion."

The new MRI suite is part of the hospital’s shift toward proactive, localized care, and provides physicians with the tools they need to make faster, more confident decisions. Methodist Hospital Texsan has also added an on-site team of MRI technologists to ensure high-quality service for patients utilizing the new center.

"We are continuing to grow one of the most advanced cardiovascular imaging programs in the country," said Dr. Michael Lane, immediate past chair of the Methodist Healthcare System Board of Governors and medical director of Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging, in a news release. "This new center brings that level of specialized care closer to home for patients and supports our commitment to seamless, high-quality diagnostics across the city."

Methodist Hospital Texsan offers cardiovascular and orthopedic care alongside a full spectrum of inpatient and outpatient services.
