The population of Richardson grew by nearly 13,000 people between 2013 and 2018, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s latest population estimates.
The 2018 American Community Survey five-year estimates put Richardson’s population at 114,402, which is 3,347 people higher than the 2017 ACS five-year population estimate of 111,055 released last year.
The U.S. Census Bureau released new five-year estimates from the 2014-2018 American Community Survey on Dec. 19. According to the bureau, the annual data release “helps local officials, community leaders and businesses understand the changes taking place in their communities.”
Women now slightly outnumber men in Richardson, according to the 2018 release. There are 57,468 women living in Richardson, while male residents total 56,934. In 2013, Richardson’s 51,164 male residents outnumbered women by 800.
