Several candidates have withdrawn from Prosper ISD and Celina races since the filing period closed earlier this month.
The deadline to withdraw from the May 2 race without a candidate’s name being on the ballot was Feb. 20.

PISD’s election for its two races for places 2 and 5 has been canceled.
Incumbent Dena Dixon, John Frensley and Kevin McMahon withdrew, leaving Allen Roundtree as the lone candidate for Place 2.
For Place 5, incumbent Tommy Van Wolfe withdrew, leaving lone candidate Kiwi Authers to take the seat.
The two Prosper Town Council seats were uncontested after the filing period.

In Celina, three candidates withdrew from the race for two City Council seats.
The candidates for mayor remain the same, with incumbent Ryan Tubbs and challengers Eric Becker and Erica Cornelius vying for the position, according to the city’s website.
For Place 4, incumbent Wendie Wigginton withdrew, leaving Katie Dunn and Shea Scott running for the seat.
For Place 5, Mathew Eberius and Ghentry Pace withdrew, leaving Brent Baty and Shane Lambert running.

In Celina ISD, incumbent Jeff Gravley withdrew from Place 3 contention, according to Celina ISD officials.
