A future overpass planned for the intersection of FM 1660 and Chandler Road in Hutto will receive funding from a Central Texas transportation authority.

Williamson County announced in June that several transportation projects within its bounds received funding from the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization.
Among projects to receive a collective $131 million in funding is the future overpass, the county shared in a June 12 news release.
About the project
The overpass is part of a countywide collection of projects planned for east Williamson County. As previously reported by Community Impact, Chandler Road and FM 1660 has seen several “horrific” accidents. In early 2025, Precinct 4 Commissioner Russ Boles championed funding an overpass for the intersection.

“I am grateful the CAMPO Board sees the need in our fast-growing county for continued improvements to our transportation system, and I congratulate Commissioner Long for securing this federal funding through CAMPO for Williamson County,” Williamson County Judge Steve Snell said in the release. “We will continue to seek funding from all sources in order to secure transportation improvements that enhance safety and mobility for our residents now and in the future.”
