Brazoria County averaging just over 44 new COVID-19 cases per day in November, 86% decrease from September

Since the beginning of November, Brazoria County is averaging 44.2 new COVID-19 cases each day, according to data from the Brazoria County Health Department dashboard. In comparison, from Sept. 1 to Sept. 15, the county was averaging 321.47 new COVID-19 cases per day, meaning the average new cases per day have decreased by 86.25%.

Brazoria County reported 111 new single-day COVID-19 cases Nov. 15, which is the second time since Oct. 26 the county has reported more than 100 new cases in a single day, according to county data.

The new COVID-19 cases reported Nov. 15 also account for those that occurred over the weekend Nov. 13-14. Of the 111 cases reported Nov. 15, one of them was over two weeks old, according to Brazoria County’s Twitter account. In addition, the county did not report any new COVID-19-related deaths Nov. 15.

As of Nov. 15, there are 915 active cases of COVID-19 in Brazoria County, which is a decrease of 295 active cases from Nov. 1.

In total since the county began tracking, there have been 59,018 COVID-19 cases reported, which is an increase of 576 since Nov. 1; 57,162 recoveries, which is an increase of 883 since Nov. 1; and 693 deaths, which is an increase of 15 since Nov. 1, according to dashboard data.

According to the Texas Department of State Health Services, 56.97% of Brazoria County’s population age 5 and older are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The DSHS updated its data to include those age 5 and older after the Food and Drug Administration authorized emergency use of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to include those in that age group Oct. 29.
