Brazoria County reported 86 new single-day COVID-19 cases Nov. 1, making it the fift-straight day the county has gone without reporting more than 100 cases.

Of the 86 cases reported Nov. 1, six of them were over two weeks old, according to Brazoria County’s Twitter account. In addition, the county reported one COVID-19-related death Nov. 1.

From Oct. 1-12, Brazoria County reported 100 or more new COVID-19 cases during each day the county reported cases, which was eight days, according to the BCHD dashboard.

From Oct. 13 to Nov. 1, the county reported 100 or more new cases in only two days, both of which were on Mondays, which also account for the cases from Saturday and Sunday of each respective weekend.

The 86 new cases reported Nov. 1 marked the first time the county did not report 100 or more cases on a Monday since July 19, according to the BCHD dashboard.


As of Nov. 1, there are 1,210 active cases of COVID-19 in Brazoria County, which is a decrease of 815 active cases from Oct. 15.

In total since the county began tracking cases, there have been 58,442 COVID-19 cases reported, an increase of 754 since Oct. 15; 56,279 recoveries, an increase of 1,820 since Oct. 15; and 678 deaths, an increase of 11 since Oct. 15, according to the dashboard.

According to the Texas Department of State Health Services, 63.04% of Brazoria County’s population age 12 and older are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, which is an increase of 1.04% since Oct. 15.
