Alvin ISD is the largest school district in Brazoria County with the highest student population.

The district's average State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness, scores in the "approaches grade level" category were greater than statewide averages in a majority of categories and grade levels.

Across AISD’s 19 elementary schools, the district’s average for STAAR scores was higher than the statewide average with the exception of fifth-grade math. The percentage of economically disadvantaged students was higher than the state average of 60.61% at eight campuses.

In AISD’s junior high schools, STAAR scores were higher than the state average with the exception of seventh-grade math. Three of AISD’s junior high schools had a higher economically disadvantaged student population than the state average.

Five of the eight junior high schools had a higher economically disadvantaged student population than 50%.

Across all end-of-course state exams, AISD’s high school averages were all higher than the state averages. All campuses with the exception of Iowa Colony, which is opening this August, had a lower economically disadvantaged student population than the state average. Three of the high school campuses had an economically disadvantaged student population greater than 50%.
