Manvel City Council is scheduled to review the proposed fiscal year 2026-27 budget during its Aug. 3 workshop after two months of budget presentations from city departments throughout June and July.
What residents need to know
Among the requests, the police department is seeking nearly $660,200 for nine additional personnel and nearly $1.7 million for patrol equipment, while the utilities division requested nearly $2.17 million for eight additional personnel and equipment.
The budget review follows the city's FY 2025-26 update presented at council’s May 4 meeting, which showed revenue is up nearly 18% and expenditures are up nearly 30% compared to FY 2024-25, according to previous reporting from Community Impact.
