Upcoming projects
Bee Creek Road improvements
Project: Bee Creek Road near Lakeway, from Lakehurst Road to Highlands Boulevard, will be widened to include a divided, two-lane roadway with a two-way left turn lane, shoulders and a shared-use path on one side.
Update: Design work is expected to be completed at the end of 2026.
- Timeline: Expected completion in early 2028
- Cost: $16.6 million
- Funding source: Travis County bonds
Whitestone Boulevard road and intersection improvements
Project: Road improvements are planned from New Hope Drive to Bagdad Road in Cedar Park, and also at the intersection of Whitestone Boulevard and 183A Toll—both in an attempt to improve traffic flow and enhance safety for drivers, pedestrians and cyclists.
Update: The project is moving into preliminary engineering and design of the intersection. The road improvements schematic has been approved by the Texas Department of Transportation and is awaiting funding approval and environmental clearance.
- Timeline: Expected road completion winter 2027; intersection winter 2026
- Cost: $11.9 million for road, $15.9 million for intersection
- Funding source: city of Cedar Park, Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority, Federal Highway Administration
Ongoing projects
Center Street
Project: The street in Kyle will be widened. The project will also add curbs, gutters, lighting and sidewalks to both sides of the road, including one shared-use path, between Old Stagecoach Road and Veterans Drive. It adds a new single-lane roundabout as well.
Update: Construction began at the 5-way traffic stop at West Center Street and Old Stagecoach Road on July 13. Crews are potholing and building drainage improvements.

I-35 Capex North Expansion
Project: This project will add one tolled lane to I-35 from US 290 East to SH 45, with a diverging diamond intersection at Wells Branch Parkway.
Update: Work is underway to widen frontage roads from Grand Avenue Parkway to SH 45.
- Timeline: March 2023-early 2029
- Cost: $606 million
- Funding source: funded by Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization and the Texas Department of Transportation
Completed projects
East Old Settlers Boulevard extension
Project: This project extends East Old Settlers Boulevard in Round Rock from Red Bud Lane to CR 110, and includes four lanes and a bridge over McNutt Creek.
Update: The project was finalized in early August and will open to traffic once the adjacent Red Bud North widening project flips traffic from its east side to its west side.
- Timeline: December 2024-August 2026
- Cost: $23.4 million
- Funding source: 2023 road bonds, Type B sales tax revenue
SH 195 exit ramp
Project: Led by the Texas Department of Transportation, the right lane exit ramp provides direct access to Ronald Reagan Boulevard in Georgetown from northbound SH 195. Previously, drivers had to use a turn lane and cross over southbound lanes, according to a county news release.
Update: Williamson County and TxDOT officials celebrated the opening with a ribbon cutting on Aug. 24. The county and TxDOT plan to construct three additional ramps to connect SH 195 to Ronald Reagan Boulevard, anticipated to undergo construction in late 2027, according to the release.
