Wondering what’s behind lane changes or detours? Multiple transportation projects are reshaping the flow of traffic in Cedar Park this month, ranging from intersection designs to new pedestrian infrastructure.

Upcoming projects
Lakeline Boulevard shared-use path
Project: A 10-foot paved shared-use path is planned along Lakeline Boulevard between New Hope Drive and Little Elm Trail to improve pedestrian and bicycle connectivity.
Update: The city filed paperwork for the project with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Design is 90% complete. Plans have been revised to modify an existing roadway bridge rather than construct a new pedestrian bridge, with final design and permitting ongoing.
Parmer Lane, Ranch Trails intersection improvements
Project: Improvements are planned at the Parmer Lane and Ranch Trails Boulevard intersection, including added inbound and outbound turn lanes to improve traffic flow and support future dual left-turn movements on southbound Parmer Lane.
Update: Design is complete, but the project is on hold and will resume once construction of a nearby development begins.
Whitestone Boulevard road and intersection improvements
Project: Road improvements are planned from New Hope Drive to Bagdad Road and also at the intersection of Whitestone Boulevard and 183A Toll, both in an attempt to improve traffic flow and enhance safety for drivers, pedestrians and cyclists.
Update: The project is moving into preliminary engineering and design of the intersection. The road improvements schematic has been approved by TxDOT and is awaiting funding approval and environmental clearance.
183A Toll at Scottsdale dedicated U-turn
Project: Improvements are planned at 183A Toll and Scottsdale Drive, including a redesigned intersection with a free-flow U-turn and added turn lanes to improve traffic flow.
Update: Design is 90% complete.
Ongoing projects
New Hope Drive expansion
Project: Traffic changes are underway as the city expands New Hope Drive from four to six lanes and introduces an innovative intersection at 183A Toll.
Update: Construction is active between Block House Drive and CR 180, with a traffic shift involving the left-turn lanes from 183A Toll onto New Hope Drive. Design work continues on the western segment toward Lakeline Boulevard.
Toro Grande Boulevard roadway improvements
Project: Work is underway to improve and extend Toro Grande Boulevard. The north side will receive intersection improvements, turn lanes and pedestrian infrastructure, while the south will enhance connectivity between Whitestone Boulevard, New Hope Drive and Parmer Lane.
Update: The city broke ground in November. Construction is progressing on roadway widening, utilities and drainage across multiple segments.
183A Toll frontage roads
Project: The state-led project will add two 3-mile lanes on either side of 183A Toll from East Whitestone Boulevard to Avery Ranch Boulevard as well as a shared-use path connecting the existing US 183 trailhead.
Update: Construction is underway on both the north and southbound frontage roads.
Bell District shared-use path
Project: Construction is underway on a 10-foot-wide, concrete shared-use path connecting 183A Toll to Bell Park along Brushy Creek Road. It will connect two existing paths at both locations.
Update: Construction is complete from South Bell Boulevard to South Mustang Avenue and is currently underway to South Cougar Avenue. Construction will then move toward South Buffalo Avenue. Eastbound lanes remain open.
