Center Street project
Project: The project will widen parts of the road in Kyle, add curbs and gutters, add lighting and add sidewalks to both sides of the road, including one shared-use path, between Old Stagecoach Road and Veterans Drive. It will also add a new single-lane roundabout.
Update: A Notice to Proceed was issued for the project June 22, allowing the construction phase to begin.

New Braunfels EDC invests $405K in pedestrian improvements
The New Braunfels Economic Development Corp., or NBEDC, will be investing $405,000 for citywide pedestrian improvement projects following City Council approval during a regular meeting June 22.
The NBEDC is funding the final design of Phase 2 of the Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, or AAMPO, Citywide Pedestrian Improvements Project, which looks to improve sidewalks and shared-use paths along North Grape Avenue, North Plum Avenue, North Peach Avenue, Avery Parkway and Hanz Drive.
New Braunfels City Council will consider the final design of the Phase 2 AAMPO Citywide Pedestrian Improvements Project in July, according to agenda documents. If approved, construction is expected to begin in 2028.

Ongoing projects
Legacy Ranch Drive expansion
Project: Crews are working to expand approximately 0.6 miles from Seward Junction North Loop in Liberty Hill, also known as CR 258 and CR 260, to a CR 258 extension east of US 183, including new signals, pavement improvements, and turn lanes serving a future Liberty Hill ISD site.
Update: Contractors broke ground March 6.

City of Round Rock to begin work on Smyers Lane reconstruction this month
Smyers Lane will soon be overhauled by the city of Round Rock as part of its street maintenance program.
The stretch of road between RM 620 and Wyoming Springs Drive will be fully reconstructed after Round Rock City Council approved a $1.38 million contract with Aaron Concrete Contractors on June 25. Sidewalks could be added as part of a future project.
Per a June update from the city, the project is set to begin construction this month.

Completed projects
Anderson Mill Road resurfacing
Project: The city of Cedar Park resurfaced both sides of Anderson Mill Road from Cypress Creek to RM 2769.
Update: Construction began in early June and was completed in late June. Work included removing existing asphalt along the width of these arterial streets and placing a two-inch layer of new asphalt over the entire width of the street in order to improve safety and mobility and enhance the roadway's visual appearance.

- Cost: $1.4 million in combined contract with Park Street and Lakeline Boulevard resurfacing
- Funding source: 2022 bond program and 2025 certificate of obligation funds
New Austin airport partnership expands accessibility for blind, low vision travelers
Blind and low vision travelers at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport now have access to Aira Explorer, a free app that provides on-demand visual interpreting assistance throughout the travel process at AUS.
The app connects travelers with a professionally trained visual interpreter and utilizes the traveler's smartphone camera and microphone to provide real-time assistance for a variety of travel-related tasks. Interpreters can describe surroundings, read signs and information displays, help with navigation throughout the airport, and locate amenities.
The service is free of charge and available 24/7, and calls are typically answered within seconds.
