The Conroe and Montgomery areas have several events going on this weekend for the whole family, from monster truck shows to Christmas musical auditions.

Go to a monster truck show

The Lone Star Convention and Expo Center is hosting the first annual Shriners Monster Truck Show. The show will feature a parade and competition between Jeeps, trucks and cars. Awarded categories include Best in Show, Most Modified and Most Stock. 2 p.m.-7 p.m. $20. Take a parents’ night out
Sept. 13

Enjoy a night out without the kids with Kiddie Academy of Woodforest. Children of all ages are welcome and will be given free pizza, make a craft project and watch a movie. Parents of infants must provide their child’s own food. Learn about beauty
Sept. 14

Audition for a Christmas musical
Sept. 15

Theatre company Stage Right will host auditions for “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.” The family-oriented musical follows the six troublemaking Herdman children who are cast in their town’s Christmas pageant. Those who would like to audition must bring a resume and headshot, and will read from parts of the script and sing. 7-10 p.m. Free.
