The owner of TEN50 BBQ will install permanent patio features at the restaurant after Richardson City Council members unanimously approved an amendment to a special permit adopted in 2012.

Originally intended to connect the restaurant's south and north parking lots, a driveway that borders the rear of the building has been temporarily barricaded off to accommodate outdoor seating.

The permit amendment will allow for the thoroughfare to be transformed into a permanent patio by enclosing each end, filling the space with decomposed granite, and installing permanent seating, planters and fire pits, Director of Development Services Michael Spicer said.

Owner John T. Evans said he intends for the project to be complete by March 1. The restaurant is located at 1050 N. Central Expressway, Richardson.
