The percentage of voters in Collin and Denton counties who cast ballots during the midterm election's early voting period is more than double the percentage from the 2014 midterm election.

According to early voting totals, nearly 50 percent of Collin County voters visited the polls over the past two weeks, and about 46 percent of Denton County voters did the same. Those percentages are greater than the nearly 22 percent of Collin County voters and 21 percent of Denton County voters who visited the polls during early voting in the last midterm election in 2014.

The 2018 early voting totals in Collin and Denton counties are closer to the totals for the 2016 election, which included a presidential election.

Of the state's most populated counties, Collin County had the highest voter turnout during early voting, followed by Travis County with 47 percent of voters and Denton County with nearly 46 percent.
