A proposal to allow an assisted-living community to be built on an undeveloped plot of land near the Dallas North Tollway in Plano advanced to the next stage Monday after receiving the recommendation of planning officials. Plano Planning and Zoning Commission voted to recommend a rezoning request that would allow construction of the Willow Bend Senior Community. The City Council will have to consider the request at a future meeting. A site plan submitted with the request shows several multistory buildings and parking structures that could be constructed on the property, which is located northwest of where Plano Parkway meets with the Dallas North Tollway. The zoning would require a mix of housing and office uses, according to a document prepared by city staff.
