On Thursday, Sept. 20 Community Foundations of Texas will host its 10th annual "18-hour giving extravaganza" known as North Texas Giving Day. Of the 1,900 nonprofits participating this year, several have close ties to Richardson. Here is a list of those organizations, according to the city of Richardson.

  • Friends of the Richardson Public Library

  • Eisemann Center Foundation

  • UT Dallas

  • Arts Incubator of Richardson

  • Tuzer Ballet

  • Richardson Community Band

  • Contemporary Chorale

  • Richardson Adult Literacy Center

  • Richardson East Rotary Club Foundation (RERC)*
    *All funds raised by RERC will help construct the city’s new inclusive playground planned for Cottonwood Park.


To participate, interested donors can login to the North Texas Giving Day website between 6 a.m.-midnight on Thursday to search the foundation's database for a nonprofit of their choice or browse 21 categories to find an organization that aligns with their interests. Donations may be made in honor of an individual by using the notes field on the donation form.

CityLine, located at 1250 State St., will also host a free, family-friendly event on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. in honor of North Texas Giving Day. Twenty nonprofits that serve the city and Richardson ISD will be on site to accept donations, host games and activities. The party will also include prize drawings and live music.
