Other patrons also remembered Bush with Tweets on Wednesday. It’s a very sad day for us as we have learned our dear Mrs. Bush has passed away. We thank her for everything she’s done for our library and the world. We will be sure to honor her memory everyday. RIP Barbara Bush.

One of my favorite things to do with my dad as a little girl was go to the @barbarabushlib and pick out books. Those books opened my eyes to the world and injustices outside my town in northwest Houston. Thanks Barbara Bush for helping me escape and learn. Rest in power. https://t.co/j5q4tOi8K5

"We have fond memories of Mrs. Bush and we will miss her greatly," Maynard said. The library is undergoing renovations following flooding during Hurricane Harvey, but Maynard said the facility may reopen in May. A floral tribute is being established at the library front door. This was my library growing up, so “Barbara Bush” will always be synonymous with literacy and my nerdy, bookworm memories in her namesake library. RIP #Barbara. https://t.co/BZFbrIBpdo
