1. Friends of the Plano Public Library book sale


The 34th annual Friends of the Plano Public Library book sale will take place Friday through Sunday at the Plano Event Center, 2000 E. Spring Creek Parkway. Fridays sale will last from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. with a $5 admission fee for individual and $10 for families. Admission is free Saturday and Sunday, and will be open those days from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., respectively. Book, DVD and CD prices range from 25 cents to $2. Net proceeds from will go to benefit the Plano Public Library system.

2. PTA back to school splash at Hawaiian falls


The Plano PTA will host a back-to-school event Saturday at Hawaiian Falls, 4400 Paige Road in The Colony. The park will open at 10:30 a.m., with admission tickets starting at $15 granting all-day access. A private party held in a cabana will last from 6:30-9:30 p.m.

3. International beer day


Hub Streat will hold a beer-themed night for international beer day Friday night. With tastings beginning at 7 p.m., Hub Streat will feature half-off beer pitchers from breweries such as Karbach, Tupps, Revolver and Deep Ellum. Food trucks will be on site, and attendees can also enter to win raffle prizes.
