The districts are changing school start and end times for the 2017-18 school year.

In order to get to 75,600 minutes of instructional time required by the state, five minutes of class will be added to the school day throughout Lake Travis ISD, Assistant Superintendent Holly Morris-Kuentz said.

Elementary schools across LTISD will start class at 7:40 a.m. and end class at 2:55 p.m. in 2017-18, she said. LTISD middle schools and the high school will have their school days aligned, with classes beginning at 8:50 a.m. and ending at 4:05 p.m., she said.

In Eanes ISD, high school classes will begin at 8:50 a.m. and end at 4:15 p.m., EISD Superintendent Tom Leonard said in an email to parents March 22. Both of the district’s middle schools will start at 8:35 a.m. and end at 4 p.m., he said.

At the elementary school level, start times vary depending on campus. Leonard said Barton Creek, Bridge Point, Cedar Creek and Valley View elementary schools will begin class at 7:40 a.m. and end class at 2:50 p.m. Eanes Elementary School will begin at 7:35 a.m. and end at 2:45 p.m. Forest Trail Elementary School will start at 8:20 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. for the 2017-18 school year.
