A re-roofing project for Hughston Elementary School, 2601 Cross Bend Road, was approved in May 2016, but when the existing roof was removed, more damage was revealed. Tonight's board approval adds $58,900 to fund the project and replace the roof deck. The project now totals $1,042,900, according to a PISD document.
Kristin Alexander was hired as the new executive director for the PISD Education Foundation and director of development for PISD. In this position she plans to establish and cultivate new and existing relationships, get to know board members and raise money for children in Plano. Alexander has 20 years of fundraising experience.
Approval of the $591,597,344 recommended FY 2016-17 budget included transferring funds to meet the projected actual expenditures. The transfers have no net budget impact.
The board also approved the following:
- musical instrument and electronic equipment repair,
- spirit wear and promotional items,
- audiological equipment and services,
- and the purchasing of wireless telecom services from Verizon Wireless using the Texas Department of Information Resources.
