Several city swimming pools and splash pads remain open, despite many closing for the season:
- The Williams Drive pool located at 3201 Williams Drive will reopen from Sep. 3-5 from 1-7 p.m. each day.
- The splash pads at San Jose Park, located at 1707 San Jose St. and at the Georgetown Art Center, at 816 S. Main St., will remain open throughout the month of September.
For those looking to cool off in Lake Georgetown, family-owned Georgetown Paddle Co., located at 4405 Williams Drive, will be open for paddleboard and kayak rentals.
Take pets or a picnic and hike at one of the several Central Texas state parks, nature trails and areas for hiking. Check out our Regional Hiking Guide for more information.
The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter will also be open during regular hours from
11 a.m.-6p.m. on Labor Day.
Southwestern University will also host its first football game of the year Sept. 3 at 6 p.m. against Hardin-Simmons University at the Georgetown ISD Athletic Complex and Stadium, 2275 N.
