Emmer & Rye, a new Italian and Scandinavian-influenced restaurant, opens its doors on Rainey Street this fall in the SkyHouse Austin apartment complex, 51 Rainey St.
The restaurant will boast rustic and seasonally inspired cuisine with a dim sum-style service and a menu that changes weekly, according to a news release.
Owner and executive chef Kevin Fink, who brings 15 years of culinary experience to the project, said he is excited to be open his first Austin restaurant, which will include dim sum-style service that allows patrons to order small plates off circulating carts. Once Emmer & Rye opens, it will be the first contemporary American restaurant in Austin to offer this dim sum service, according to a news release. This approach allows Emmer & Rye to focus on Texas ingredients, according to Fink.
Guests can also order from an ever-changing menu, which will be seasonally influenced to pay homage to local farmers. Menu items will also feature a wide range of flavors and ingredients on each of their dishes.
“I want Emmer & Rye’s ever-changing menu and style of service to be a way to play with the local flavors, push the kitchen to grow and encourage guests to really have fun with food,” Chef Fink said in a statement.
