As of Feb. 20 D'Vine Wine in Grapevine has changed its name to Grape Vine Springs Winery.
According to owner Dave Besgrove the transition has been a slow one because he did not want customers to walk in and find out D'Vine Wine was gone.
"D'Vine has been a fixture in the Grapevine community for 10 years so we felt it was time to update our image," Besgrove wrote in an email to Community Impact. "The name comes from the area that is the city of Grapevine today."
"In 1843 (before Grapevine was a city) President Sam Houston met with 10 Indian tribes there to sign a treaty. The area was called Grape Vine Springs. We changed our name to honor the heritage and history of our great city," he wrote.
Grape Vine Springs Winery is located at 409 S. Main St. in downtown Grapevine.
