Three students and one employee from Grapevine-Colleyville ISD were confirmed as passengers on the same flight as the second health care worker who tested positive for the Ebola virus last week.

The three students from two different families were on round-trip flights between Cleveland and Dallas on Oct. 10; the employee was on an outbound flight to Cleveland.

District leaders said two students attend Silver Lake Elementary School, and one student attends Grapevine Middle School. Additionally, one of the students has a sibling at Grapevine High School, but the sibling was not on either flight.

The employee has contacted the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and has been assured by the CDC that the agency is not monitoring anyone from the outbound flight. The employee does not work directly with any students but is staying at home until the 21-day quarantine is over, according to a news release from the district.

The press release also said none of the students or their family members, nor the employee, are exhibiting any signs of the virus and are not considered contagious. The district has no confirmed cases of Ebola; it has sent extra cleaning personnel and special cleaning supplies to both the elementary and middle school. Also, the buses used by the students were taken out of service until they were disinfected.
