Cedar Park City Council on Feb. 13 unanimously approved rezoning 21 acres north of Park Street for single-family use. The vote included several conditions for the site, including a 10,000-square-foot minimum for lots. Developers said the city's current ordinance would have restricted the quality of their planned executive-style housing. A 3/4 majority of council votes was required after 68 percent of qualifying neighbors to the property presented a petition opposing the zoning request. Mayor Matt Powell said he hoped site developers and neighbors could work out their differences.
