Ready To Run, a retail store geared toward running and nutrition enthusiasts, celebrated its grand opening Nov. 1–3.

The Northwest Austin store, located at 3616 Far West Blvd., had its soft opening in late September and has been popular among patrons of the former RunTex store, which is where Ready To Run co-owner Ryan Hess worked the previous seven years.

Hess partnered with Scott Hippensteel, Lockhart High School track and cross country coach and one of the original RunTex employees, to create a new locally owned and operated destination for runners.

The new store includes a fully stocked inventory of shoes and complementary goods from a broad range of suppliers, Hess said. Such popular brands on sale at Ready To Run include Asics, Brooks and Pearl Izumi, among others, he said.

Ready To Run also encourages residents to bring in old pairs of shoes for donation to Mobile Loaves & Fishes, an Austin-based nonprofit group. In exchange, customers will receive $5 off their first purchase, Hess said. 512-241-0323. www.facebook.com/rtraustin
