Five candidates will be vying for New Caney ISD Position 7—currently held by trustee Beth Prykryl, who chose not to file for reelection—in the upcoming Nov. 4 election.

Before the filing period closed Aug. 18, Larry Buford, Kristina Haggard, David Hagler, Gretta Rogne and Stacey Kiki Shipley filed to run for Position 7, according to NCISD’s website. Prykryl did not apply to run for reelection.
Meanwhile, trustee Ty Trout filed to run for reelection in Position 6 and is currently unopposed.
According to the NCISD website, each member of the board of trustees is elected to an at-large position for three years in a nonpartisan election. The filing period for November’s general election opened July 20.
Trout and Prykryl both became trustees in 2016, as previously reported by Community Impact.
