Candidate filing period opens for 2 New Caney ISD trustee spots

Candidates can file to run for two New Caney ISD board of trustees positions through Aug. 19 after the filing period opened July 20.

At a glance

According to the district's website, the two positions on the Nov. 4 ballot are:

• Position 6, held by Ty Trout
• Position 7, held by Beth Prykryl

Applications must be turned in via email, fax, mail or brought during regular business hours to the district’s administration office at 21580 Loop 494, New Caney.

According to state law posted on NCISD’s website, requirements for running for a trustee spot include that a candidate must:

• Be a U.S. citizen
• Be at least 18 years old
• Have lived in Texas for at least 12 months and within NCISD’s boundaries for at least six months
• Be registered to vote within NCISD’s boundaries
