Voter turnout in Collin County reaches 38% during early voting for Nov. 8 election

Voter turnout during the nearly two weeks of early voting in Collin County for the Nov. 8 election was about 38%, according to county election figures.

Between Oct. 24-Nov. 3, 265,367 voters cast ballots in Collin County, data shows. Of the number of ballots cast, 46,981 were from McKinney voters, both in-person and by mail, according to Micki Meinecke, Collin County deputy elections administrator.

On Nov. 8, Collin County voters may cast a ballot at any polling location. Click here for a list of polling locations. On Election Day, polls will be open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.

On the ballot in McKinney are candidates at the federal, state and county levels as well as McKinney’s Proposition A, a measure to allow package liquor stores to open in the city.

Voters will also choose a county judge, which is the top elected post at the county level, as well as their county district clerk and other offices at the county level.

Several statewide offices, including governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general, will be decided by voters in this general election as well.

Also on the ballot are candidates for the Texas Senate, the Texas House of Representatives, the U.S. House of Representatives, the State Board of Education and several judicial offices.
