1. Trung Nguyên E-Coffee offers Vietnamese coffee, pastries in Frisco
Trung Nguyên E-Coffee, a coffee chain founded in Vietnam, has opened a new location in Frisco.
Trung Nguyên E-Coffee serves traditional Vietnamese phin coffee, modern coffee beverages, pastries and light snacks, offering customers a taste of Vietnamese coffee culture in a quick-service setting. The coffeehouse celebrated its soft opening in early August and is now officially open to the public.
2. Red: Italian now open, offers comfort Italian food in speakeasy atmosphere
Red: Italian is now open below Ruby Rodeo off the square in downtown Denton.
The Italian comfort restaurant opened its doors toward the end of August, according to the restaurant’s Facebook page. Reservations at the restaurant, which offers a speakeasy vibe and seats just 50 people, were sold out for its opening weekend.
Red: Italian offers such as appetizers like grilled artichokes and bruschetta. Entrees include pasta dishes such as lasagna and gnocchi along with steak, sea bass and chicken plates, like chicken piccata. The menu also has desserts like cheesecake and panna cotta.
3. The Melting Pot now offering fondue in Allen’s Watters Creek Village
An Allen location of The Melting Pot is now open and offering an interactive dining experience. The eatery, which is located in Watters Creek Village, offers a signature four-course dining experience featuring both cheese and chocolate fondue courses.
The Florida-based company has nearly 90 locations across 30 states, and the Allen restaurant is the third Melting Pot in North Texas, a company news release states.

4. Salad and bowl restaurant, Flower Child, to open second Plano location near Legacy area
Flower Child, a restaurant that specializes in healthy foods, is opening a second Plano location soon.
Flower Child’s menu has a variety of salads, bowls and wraps. Some of its sides include the cauliflower risotto, steamed brown rice, red chile glazed sweet potato and olive oil roasted vegetables.
The new location will be at the same location as the current Samui Thai Cuisine.
5. Maman to serve coffee, pastries in Southlake
A new French-inspired cafe, Maman, is planning to open a location in Southlake.
Construction on the new location could start in October and wrap up in January 2027, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The estimated cost of the finish out for the 2,517-square-foot coffee shop is $400,000. Maman’s menu includes a selection of coffees and teas, according to its website. Customers can also order pastries, sandwiches and salads.
6. Potbelly sets opening date for west McKinney restaurant
Potbelly is set to debut in west McKinney this September, a company news release states.
The sandwich shop with over 465 locations offers a variety of toasted sandwiches as well as wraps, salads, soups, macaroni and cheese, milkshakes and more, according to the company's website. The McKinney restaurant is owned and operated by franchisees Barry and Remington Burke, a father-and-son duo that also has plans to bring a total of 15 shops to North and East Texas, the release states.
Urban Tandoori Pizza is coming soon to Richardson.
The restaurant will serve a variety of pizzas, sandwiches and wings with a mix of Italian and Desi flavors. The menu is 100% halal, per its website. Urban Tandoori Pizza is set to open in early September.
