2. BasePoint BreakThrough
The Texas-based behavioral health organization specializes in teen and young adult mental as well as dual-diagnosis treatment. The McKinney location is the fourth BreakThrough location and expands the organization’s partial hospitalization program and intensive outpatient program, which offers services for individuals ages 18-35, a news release states.
3. Field of Fidelis
The veteran-owned business offers products infused with lavender grown in Anna, including candles, bath bombs, essential oil, oil diffusers, soap and more.
4. Gather on the Square
The event space, which is owned and operated by the McKinney Chamber of Commerce, offers rentable space for meetings, networking and community events, and private celebrations such as weddings and baby showers. Preferred pricing and benefits are available for members of the McKinney Chamber of Commerce, the business’s website states.
5. Lelo’s Coffee Co.
The wholesale coffee company owned by husband-and-wife Derek and Sandy Davis expanded its online business to include a brick-and-mortar presence. The business offers espresso drinks as well as specialty drinks such as the Dr. Love, which is a real cane sugar Dr. Pepper topped with espresso cold foam.
A future expansion of the business will include converting an adjacent building into a cafe.
6. Lucky Dog Mobile Groomers
The professional grooming service offers one-on-one dog grooming in fully equipped mobile units. The mobile service, which is direct to the driveways of pet owners, aims to eliminate the need for drop-offs and long wait times at grooming facilities, a news release states. The franchise serves various North Texas communities including McKinney.
7. Metal Supermarkets
The business sells over 8,000 types, shapes and grades of metal including steel, aluminum, stainless steel, copper and brass. The location offers custom cutting and shearing services for professionals, businesses and hobbyists, according to its website.
8. The Empress House
The boutique mahjong studio and social club offers a space to learn about and play mahjong. The business offers both beginner-friendly mahjong classes as well as open play sessions and private events. The boutique offers mahjong accessories and gifts.
9. Toasted Simple
The business offers simple syrups infused with real toasted food that can be used for cocktails and mocktails. The Toasted Old-Fashioned Elixir is a brown sugar syrup infused with flame-toasted orange, cherry, vanilla and cinnamon. The shop, located on the Tupps Brewery property, offers a create your own old fashioned experience.

10. Lusso Pasta and Market
The business will offer pantry items and kitchen goods imported from Italy, a deli counter with aged meats and cheeses, focaccia pizza, pastries, pasta kits and more, owner Megan Lux said. Customers can take items home to cook or enjoy food there at the restaurant.
11. Texans Credit Union
Officials broke ground on the credit union’s second location in McKinney in May. The new branch will offer banking, lending and investment services like its first-time homebuyer mortgage program.
12. The Cipher Lounge
The business will offer theatrical escape room experiences, including a “futuristic space adventure” and a “haunted historic hotel tied to the mystery and history of McKinney,” owner Stephanie Roman said. Craft cocktails and small plates will also be available.

13. Hugs Cafe
The original Hugs Cafe location is downtown McKinney closed May 30, a representative of the organization confirmed. The closure of the cafe’s downtown location precedes the planned opening of the organization’s new Hugs Headquarters in East McKinney. A grand opening for the headquarters is planned for 10 a.m. July 2.
