Richard Montgomery, Tom Cathcart and Dan Masullo will open the Junction Truckyard at 200 FM 32, San Marcos, by late March. The property contains two shipping containers that will act as a beer and wine bar. Food trucks will also be available to patrons. “We’re trying to make it a destination more than just, ‘Hey, come in here, sit and drink,’” Montgomery said. “We want to make it family-friendly and pet-friendly. There are biker bars on [FM] 32 across the county line. Those places are available and great, but that’s not what we’re going for.” When the Junction Truckyard opens on its two-acre lot, there will be 4-5 beers on tap as well as a variety of bottled beers, he said. Wine may also be offered on tap. Montgomery said the oak tree-shaded property will also likely feature a children’s play area, swings and games. The trio are seeking food trucks to locate at the property as well, he said. “We’re trying to have a good diverse selection of food trucks rather than the same things you see everywhere else,” Montgomery said. In the future, the property will likely host live music, he said. The Junction Truckyard 512-900-8215 www.thejunctiontruckyard.com [email protected]
