Austin-area young professionals in the Urban Land Institute participated in a May 23 competition to create a conceptual design for the public use of the Lime Creek Quarry in Cedar Park. The designs—which were purely conceptual and do not indicate possible city plans for the property—incorporated parkland, mixed use development, rock-climbing and BMX courses onto the property. The two competing teams had two weeks to create the design before the event, which was held at the Headliners Club in Austin. The winning team was called Mineral Basin Realty Partners and included six young professionals under the age of 35. The Urban Land Institute is a global education and research organization focused on land use and real estate development. www.uli.org
