Chinese brasserie and cocktail bar Old Thousand opened Dec. 4 at 1000 E. 11th St., Ste. 150, Austin. The restaurant offers modern interpretations of classic Chinese dishes by Chef James Dumapit, the former executive sous chef at Uchiko, and Chef David Baek, formerly of Thai Kun and Uchi.
