Pain center expands care options

Advanced Pain Care increased its care options in February.

The practice, which offers chronic and acute pain management and therapy for individuals with most types of pain, added Advanced Rheumatology Care.

Dr. Arif Ahmed will work with patients with rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, gout, lupus, autoimmune diseases, fibromyalgia and osteoporosis. The rheumatology care will be offered at APC locations in Austin, Cedar Park, Georgetown and Round Rock.

“By bringing rheumatology in-house we can better coordinate care and expedite pain relief for these patients,” APC Medical Director Dr. Mark Malone said.

The center also added in-house behavioral health services, including Functional Restoration, an intensive 20-day program designed to get worker’s compensation patients back to work after injury and chronic pain.
