Amid district closures due to the coronavirus, Lake Travis ISD’s Food and Nutrition Services is continuing to provide free meals through a grab-and-go drive-thru at the district’s middle schools.
Following a U.S. Department of Agriculture decision March 26, children are no longer required to be present within the vehicle for a parent or guardian to obtain the meal. Previously, children would have to be present in order to qualify for the meals.
With guidance from the USDA, LTISD parents are now able to present a child’s school identification, attendance record, report card or official school application to obtain the meals. However, parents are instructed to stay within the vehicle.
Packaged breakfast and lunch is available Monday through Friday from 8:30-10:30 a.m. for children up to 18 years old. The drive-thrus are set up on the district’s three middle school campuses: Bee Cave Middle School, Hudson Bend Middle School and Lake Travis Middle School and are expected to continue throughout the anticipated closure.
