BBQ Outfitters to celebrate 25th anniversary in January

BBQ Outfitters, located at 6715 N. RM 620, Austin, will be celebrating its 25th anniversary as a company in January. The owners, Kristin and Layne Mayfield, also celebrated their one-year anniversary as owners Dec. 1.

The store, which is over 5,000 square feet, features grills, smokers, fire pits, pizza ovens, patio items and barbecue accessories.

The business also does custom outdoor kitchens and modular kitchens, Kristin Mayfield said.

“Those [modular] kitchens are kitchens you can just take with you if you move,” she said.

BBQ Outfitters also has a store in San Antonio, and Kristin Mayfield said one of the things that stands out about their business is the personal touch.

“All of our employees are experts, so they can help you with buying the smallest of accessories to doing a full kitchen build-out with our 3D model system,” she said.

BBQ Outfitters opened in 1998. Kristin Mayfield said, while she does not know the exact date of opening, she does know it opened in January. The store's hours are Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. 512-347-1988.
