Humble Fire Rescue officials celebrate department's 90th anniversary

Officials from Humble Fire Rescue celebrated the department’s 90th anniversary with an awards dinner May 8.

Originally established in 1935, Humble Fire Rescue provides fire suppression and prevention services, emergency medical services and response to non-law enforcement emergencies, according to the city’s website.

“For nearly a century, the men and women of this department have stood as a symbol of courage, service and commitment to our community,” Chief David Langenberg said in a May 13 emailed statement. “As fire chief, I am proud to lead an organization with such a rich legacy—built on the dedication of those who came before us and carried forward by those who serve today.”

What’s next

Langenberg said he was looking forward to carrying on the department’s commitment to service in the future.

“We are grateful to the citizens of Humble and our amazing city leadership for their continued trust and support as we look ahead to the future with pride and purpose,” Langenberg said.
