With 317 of 401 Harris County voting centers reporting, incumbent Dan Huberty has a commanding lead against opponent Dwight Ford in the race for state representative District 127. Huberty has received 83.44% of the votes, or 10,425 votes, and Ford has received 16.56% of the votes, or 2,069 votes.
Huberty was elected into the office in 2011 and has participated in five legislative sessions. In a January questionnaire with Community Impact Newspaper, Huberty said that if he were re-elected, he intended to fight to further educational reforms, continue dredging in Lake Houston and create best management practices for sand mining companies.
Huberty did not respond to a request for comment on election night.
There are no Democratic candidates in the running for the position. All results are unofficial until canvassed.

Polls closed at 7 p.m., and early voting results for the March 3 primary election are in. Unofficial early voting results show Republican incumbent Dan Huberty taking the lead in the race for state representative of District 127. Results show Huberty with 84.68% of the votes, or 8,259 votes, and challenger Dwight Ford with 15.32% of the votes, or 1,494 votes.
Huberty has served as a representative for five legislative terms, according to a questionnaire Huberty completed for Community Impact Newspaper in January.
There are no Democratic candidates in the race for the position.
