The Texas Department of Transportation is closing all lanes at a major intersection in Roanoke early next week.

All traffic lanes at the Hwy. 114 and US 377 intersection will be fully closed from 7 p.m. March 22 to 6 a.m. March 23, according to a March 14 TxDOT press release. The intersection will also be closed from 9 p.m. March 23 to 6 a.m. March 24.

TxDOT advises drivers to expect delays and plan ahead for extra travel time, according to the release. Drivers must also follow the marked detour route or find alternate ones.

“Message boards have been placed to alert drivers of upcoming construction activities,” the release states.

TxDOT Public Information Officer Kendall Kirkham Sloan said the construction work is being done to set bridge beams for the new grade separation bridge for the Hwy. 114 mainlanes.

The overall project is one of 23 Denton County design projects, Sloan said.

“This is one step in construction on a larger project that will reconstruct the main lanes of [Hwy.] 114, including the grade separation over US 377,” Sloan said.
