Several Montgomery County-area nonprofits are hosting food, gift or fund drives this holiday season. Check them out below. This list is not comprehensive.

Montgomery County Food Bank

Through Dec. 31, the Montgomery County Food Bank is hosting a food and funds drive, dubbed “Holiday Helpings.” Residents, businesses and organizations are invited to register to participate, with each $1 raised providing for up to four meals. To see the bank’s most needed items, click here.

Interfaith of The Woodlands

Montgomery County residents can participate in several programs Interfaith of The Woodlands is hosting this holiday season, including an adopt-a-family gift program, a holiday toy drive, gifts for seniors, holiday food assistance and gift card donations. To see the food pantry needs, click here.

Montgomery County Women’s Shelter

The Montgomery County Women’s Shelter is hosting a “Share-A-Family” holiday giving program, for which residents can adopt a family and provide gifts for them, host a giving tree or make a monetary donation. Residents can register by emailing [email protected].

Salvation Army



The Salvation Army, which has a community center in Conroe, is hosting an angel adoption program where residents can “adopt” children they then buy gifts for. People can also choose to donate gifts by purchasing items from specific gift registries.

Compassion United

Montgomery County residents are invited to purchase gifts for Compassion United’s City of Light Youth students. Each student’s list is around $170-$200, with specific Christmas wishes on them. To register to participate, email [email protected]. Purchased gifts will be mailed straight to Compassion United.

Trel’s Home For Children

This holiday season, Trel’s Home For Children is hosting a Christmas tech drive and requesting residents donate any iPhones or iPads they have that are in good working condition. Residents can donate the items by contacting the nonprofit at 936-217-1047 or [email protected].

Children’s Safe Harbor

Children’s Safe Harbor is inviting locals to sign up to sponsor a family’s Christmas list. The gifts and items from the wish lists must be able to be dropped off at the nonprofit’s center in Conroe.

Toys For Tots



Helping families with children between the ages of 0 and 13, Conroe Toys For Tots supported over 14,000 children last year with over 22,000 toys donated. This year, residents are again invited to donate toys at one of the organization’s drop sites around Montgomery County or donate monetarily.
