In his role, Pinto is charged with ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care by leading clinical and quality initiatives supporting consistent clinical performance and practice standards at the Tomball hospital, according to the release.
Community Impact Newspaper previously reported in June that Pinto would be the first to fill the chief medical officer position since the Tomball hospital was acquired by HCA Houston Healthcare in 2017.
Pinto previously worked at St. David's Round Rock Medical Center since 2016 as chair of the department of medicine and the Medical Executive Council. He also worked as hospice medical director in the Kindred Hospice Program in Austin and Georgetown, and he began his hospital medicine career at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas, as the hospitalist medical director from 2013-14, according to the release.
Pinto is a native of Bolivia and graduate of Universidad Privada Nuestra Señora de La Paz in Bolivia. He also completed residencies in family and community medicine, and hospital medicine at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, according to the release. He is board certified in family medicine.
