What we know
The committee is made up of 11 individuals from various groups, including the city’s Tourism Advisory Committee, the Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce, the Tomball Economic Development Corp., the Hutson Group and Modern Marketing & Media, director of marketing and tourism Chrislord Templonuevo said.
According to the agenda, the committee will help shape the look, feel and function of Tomball’s gateways and wayfinding signage to ensure a welcoming, cohesive experience for residents and visitors.
How we got here
A contract with Westwood Professional Services, Inc., which entails evaluating the feasibility of monument signs at locations, prioritizing locations and providing conceptual design, for an amount not to exceed $51,700, was approved by City Council during its Nov. 18 meeting, as previously reported. The funds come from the $2.92 million the city received from the March 2021 American Rescue Plan Act, which authorized $1.9 trillion in federal pandemic relief funds.City Council has also used ARPA funds for projects like water meters, Louie’s Together Playground and the Depot Museum.
